Dear Shelby Community,
As we all know, COVID-related numbers continue to rise which affects many facets of our society. Up to this point, the Shelby City School District has been fortunate to avoid an abundance of positive cases as well as widespread quarantining due to contact tracing. As a result, our schools, as of today, have been able to continue face-to-face instruction. Thank you for your help in maintaining safety protocols and practices; our students and staff appreciate your assistance very much.
With that being said, please know that we hope to continue face-to-face instruction as long as we can continue to provide a safe environment for our students and staff, as well as provide adequate staffing for our buildings.
When a student or staff member tests positive for COVID, a text alert will be sent to the parents who have students in the building affected by the positive case and our COVID dashboard will be updated with information that illustrates current numbers throughout the Shelby City Schools. To that end, the Shelby City School District will continue to be transparent and provide COVID-related information that may affect your family and our community; to access this information, including our COVID dashboard detailing district positive cases and quarantine information, please go to https://testing.shelbyk12.org/covid-reporting.
Again, thank you for supporting our students, staff and district by modeling proper safety protocols; if you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at 419-342-3520.
Take care, be safe; go Whippets,
Tim Tarvin
Superintendent, Shelby City Schools
