Dear Shelby Families,
As we work our way through this unprecedented time in our history, please know that the Shelby City School District is committed to keeping our students healthy and safe while still continuing to provide them with meaningful instruction, as well as with breakfast and lunch.
During this challenging time it has been a joy to witness the amazing cooperation and teamwork taking place between our teachers and parents/guardians, as well as the entire community. Thank you!! Rest assured, the District will continue to provide instruction and food distribution for as long as this mandated closure continues.
Also, I want to reassure our seniors and their parents; we are working on ways in which we can celebrate our seniors’ final year as Whippets, such as prom, commencement and other highlights. No dates, times and locations have been determined yet, but as we have all learned throughout the past couple of weeks, flexibility and creative thinking are important paths to success during this challenging time; please rest assured that we will consider all options as we work collaboratively to celebrate our seniors!
Again, I want to thank everyone for their support of our staff, students and families during this mandated closure, please be safe; go Whippets!
Sincerely,
Tim Tarvin
Superintendent, Shelby City Schools
